FAQs

General

Mark your calendars and set your alarms! Hey Neighbour festival is going down on Friday 08 – Sunday 10 December 2023.

Day 1 & 2 the gates open at 12h00 and close at 00h00.  Day 3 gates open 12H00 and close at 23H00.

Of course!  Inclusivity and access for all are key to our ethos in the Hood.  Our festival is mobility-impaired friendly and ADA provisions have been put in place.  Do note that it’s a grass field to traverse and move around on.

Yes, sorry kiddos, you have to be 18 and over to join in on the fun at Hey Neighbour.

Sorry, still a hard NO. We take our age restrictions seriously, so unless you’re 18 years or older, you won’t be allowed at Hey Neighbour. ID checks will be conducted at the gate, so please don’t try to sneak in – we don’t want to ruin the party for you! No under 18s allowed.

Make sure you get to the party before the main gates close at 22h00 daily. You won’t want to miss any of the action!

Be prepared! The days might be warm, but the nights could be chilly. Be cool, be comfy, and SPF always! Pack something warm for the evenings.

The party never stops, even if it rains! We’ll keep the music pumping, but in case of any safety risks, we’ll make sure everyone stays safe.

Yaaas, we’re stoked too! First things first, you’ll need a legit festival pass. Once you’ve got that sorted, it’s time to gear up for three days of non-stop fun. If you’re camping or parking off-site, lock that in with your crew pronto. Then, make sure you’ve got all the essentials for a wild time. Days are hot, so pack comfy clothes and slap on some SPF. Nights can get chilly, so bring a cozy layer to snuggle up in. Pro tip: Charge up your devices with a power bank so you can snap every single Insta-worthy moment. No FOMO here, people!

Safety is a top priority for us at Hey Neighbour. We have security presence both inside and outside the festival, roaming security to assist you if needed, and medical tents at each entry point. For those staying at the camping site, dedicated security will be present 24/7. While we’ll do everything we can to keep you and your valuables safe, it’s important that you’re vigilant and keep an eye on your personal items.

We follow the Covid-19 rules and requirements as enforced by the South African Department of Health and we’re aware that the risk is still out there. We encourage everyone to do what they feel is best for them – mask up if you want to, or don’t if you prefer not to. Let’s keep Hey Neighbour a safe and responsible space for everyone!

Pass-outs will not be issued at the festival. Your single day passes will be valid for one entry. Your weekend passes will be valid for one entry per day.

We know that emergencies happen which might result in you having to leave for a short period of time… Please chat to security at the gate if something of this nature arises and we will handle each request on a case-by-case situation (a pass-out cannot be guaranteed).

It is a long drive out, but you can most definitely Uber there and back. We will allocate a dedicated Uber drop off / collection point but please be aware that there will be a lot of people at the festival which can affect your connectivity and APP access. While we are bringing in booster towers to assist with signal and connectivity, we cannot guarantee your APP connectivity.

Sadly not… we will not be providing free WiFi at the festival but we will bring in booster towers to help with signal at the festival so you can keep up to date on your socials and keep those Insta moments going.

Fear not! Now that we are handing out the accreditation at the festival, there is no need for you to collect your passes before hand. Just rock up at the festival with your valid festival passes and we will issue you with your festival passes.

Please check your spam/trash folder, if it’s not there, kindly contact Ticketpro on info@ticketpros.co.za for assistance.

Festival tickets

This is essentially a Hey Neighbour ticket, that will get you inside the venue for the day/s that you have purchased for.

Yes, for a LIMITED TIME ONLY we will open 1 day only passes for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday festival days.
Passes are limited – you snooze, you lose.

Yep, you sure can! Once you’ve got your festival accreditation on, it’s on for the duration of the festival. So you can come and go as you please. Once you have the festival accreditation on, it must not be removed. Any removed festival accreditation will be assumed as tampered with and will not be validated for entry. Passes are not transferable.

Yes it is… this means that taking a shower or a bath wearing it will not spoil the fun – in fact, we encourage a little scrub behind the ears daily… all the better to hear the awesome tunes!!

The only authorized sellers of festival tickets are www.ticketpros.co.za. Beware of scammers selling fake tickets on other ticketing platforms!

Nuh uh! Viagogo is NOT an authorized seller of festival passes for Hey Neighbour. The only accredited seller of Hey Neighbour festival passes is Ticketpros – www.ticketpros.co.za.

Phase 2 sales for 3-Day and 1-Day festival passes are now on sale at www.ticketpros.co.za.

Yes, we’ve got you! When you buy your festival tickets online, you can choose to pay in installments through Mobicred. They’ll help you set it up, and once you’re paid up, you’ll get your festival tickets.

Yes, we got you! Sadly Mobicred is not available to international travellers, but we are in discussions with our partners to make some magic for you. Please keep an eye on our website and

Woo-hoo! Step one, complete.

All you gotta do now is arrive at Hey Neighbour with your valid festival pass… we will scan and validate it at the gate and issue you with your festival accreditation. It could not be any easier.

Don’t forget to scope out our accommodation and Park & Ride options online. We’ll also be updating the talent lineup as the festival gets closer, so stay tuned. And download our festival app for all the info you need right at your fingertips!

Festival accreditation will be issued at Hey Neighbour – no need to collect beforehand… we will scan and validate at the gate and issue you with your festival accreditation. Please refer to the Festival Passes and Registration tab for detailed information.

Of course you can! Just shoot an email to info@ticketpros.co.za and they’ll help you upgrade, as long as VIP passes are still available.

Don’t panic!!! Your festival accreditation is registered to each person / main purchaser. This means that if you lose or damage your wristband before or during the festival, we will be able to cancel it and re-allocate you with another one. We do stress that any lost or damaged festival accreditation will incur an additional replacement cost of R2,500. Your previous number will be cancelled and your new number issued. This means that your old festival pass is useless to anyone trying to use it to gain access to the festival.
This also means that trying to sell your festival passes by claiming any lost passes will not work.
Purchasing festival accreditation from someone will more than likely result in you losing money.

Don’t even think about it! We can’t vouch for tickets purchased from third parties or scalpers, and we won’t be able to help you if you get scammed. Stick with the official festival pass sellers www.ticketpros.co.za.

No need to register your accreditation. Your accreditation will be activated as soon as it has been issued. Check out the Festival Passes tab for all the deets.

Got a burning question about your pass?

Drop us a line at info@ticketpros.co.za.

If we have ordered more than one festival pass, can the main person collect all festival passes? Or does each person have to be present to collect their festival pass?

No need to collect your festival accreditation ahead of the festival anymore. We have beefed up our staffing to make sure you have the easiest check-in and collection process onsite. All you need to do is arrive at Hey Neighbour with your valid festival pass and we will issue your accreditation for entry.

Travel

We’ve got options galore! You can rally your crew and drive in daily, jump on the Park & Ride shuttle from your local pick-up spot, or make a bold move and set up camp on Thursday, December 7th, 2023. Our campsite is off the hook and you’ll be right in the middle of the action ’til the festival’s over!

[PSA] Safety first! Please use our dedicated Park & Ride – we don’t want anyone driving under the influence.

Yup, there is a toll gate at the offramp. The cost for this toll gate is R25 each way. Please make sure you have some loose dineros ready and on hand to get your through and to the festival as soon as possible.

In short, yes. For those of you not wanting to camp overnight, or hop onto a dedicated Park & Ride from Johannesburg or Pretoria, we encourage you to Uber in… if your day is going to involve fun in the sun with some delightful beverages to keep the day fezzie, please make use of this option before opting to drive in. We value your safety and the safety of others on the road. Dedicated Uber collection points will be allocated and will be identified on your Uber App when arranging a drop off or collection.

Sadly the Gautrain route does not run past the festival. Please check out the Park & Ride tab for a super easy and convenient way to get to the festival.

Parking

Parking will be complimentary for the first year, there is limited availability on a daily basis. Be sure to explore our park & ride, camping, and accommodation alternatives for convenient options. Please remember to secure your vehicle and take your keys with you.

For sure! We take your safety seriously and will have security personnel patrolling the parking areas at all times.

Park & Ride

Super easy and convenient! All you need to do is present your Park & Ride pass to the Departure Manager at your selected departure point.

You will then be issued with a colour coded wristband and a pre-paid parking ticket.

Our super friendly staff will then guide you to the appropriate bus and for you to get to the festival comfortably and safely.

At the festival our Park & Ride busses will be parked at a pre-determined area… don’t worry, this will be as close as we can get you to the festival entrance.

Drop off and pick-up are at the same location… after the festival you should return to the same location for your return trip to the departure point.

Busses are kept on site and return when they are filled up.

We have a super easy-to-use bus rotation system that will have you hopping on and off buses in no time. The buses will shuttle you from your nearest collection point to the festival venue, and back again when the festival is over. Please check out Park & Ride for a detailed breakdown of the Park & Ride collection points and more information.

We wouldn’t want you to miss a single minute of the festival!!! Please keep an eye on the Park & Ride information so you can see the bus rotation schedules.

Our buses will run at dedicated times during the day. Please keep an eye on the Park & Ride information so you can see the bus rotation schedules.

If you have any queries regarding Park & Ride, please hit us up on info@ticketpros.co.za and we will help with your query.

In short, yes. The Park & Ride buses are arranged by ticket numbers purchased. So please stick to your selected collection point and time.

Of course! All you gotta do is select your Park & Ride time per day et voila

Missing your Park & Ride is not ideal but in such an instance, please show your valid Park & Ride pass to the Departure Manager and he/she will see if there is enough room on the next shuttle for you.

We do need to stress the following:

If you miss your selected departure time, we will only be able to accommodate you on the next shuttle if A) there is enough space on the bus, and B) if there is another time slot for you to choose from.

The bus trips will be made as per the allotted times on the website – we will not be able to make any dedicated trips over and above these times.

Please check out >>Park & Ride<< for all bus pick-up points and times.

Camping & Glamping

Please keep an eye on the Camping information so you can select the option of your choice. We have a wide selection of camping options for your onsite so you don’t have to miss a minute of the festival.

Easy peasy… go to www.ticketpros.co.za and book the camping or glamping option that best suits you and your crew. Please keep an eye on the Hotel and Accommodation page for more information on each of the packages. Camping onsite means you won’t have to miss a minute of the festival.

Well, why not?! From hardcore camping to glamping in style, we have options for you to choose from to make this your BEST experience ever!

The campsite is a hop, skip and a jump away from the festival grounds.

Yes, this is allowed. While you will be allowed to bring beverages to the campsite, you will not be allowed to bring it into the festival grounds.

Yup, we are allowing you to braai at the campground, but only in designated areas. This is for your safety and the safety of others. Hey, what better way to make new friends than over a shisanyama or a chop and a dop…

Yes, there will be dedicated showers and ablutions in your campsite.

Hey Neighbour has an age restriction of 18… this means that you have to be 18 or older to attend the festival as well as stay at the campsite.

Man do we have you covered. We have 10 different camping options for you to choose from. Check out our Camping tab for a detailed list of what is on offer.

Hey man – valid question, but sadly it is not allowed.

Camping in RV’s/motor homes are allowed in The Neighbour’s Park as they have the basic safety precautions built in unlike your car. We would still love for you to come party with us at the festival, so why not check out our glamping options and see what tickles your fancy. With so many options to choose from, we are sure that you will find a solution that suits, as an alternative to your request.

When booking either The Penthouse Pavillion or The Ultimate Utopia you will have a private toilet and shower located in your tent. Your first compartment will be your room and the compartment behind you, sealed off from view is your private toilet and shower. Only the best way to glamp!

We hear you and love your enthusiasm. At this stage we are offering the festival tickets separate to the camping and glamping tickets

Sadly we only offer a weekend camping package.

No worries at all… we have opened check in to the camping and glamping sites on Thursday to allow you early access to settle in before the fun begins on Friday. Should you only get to the festival on Friday, that is cool. Please just keep your eyes peeled for the dedicated camping entrance so you don’t get lost with the festival goers driving into the day parking.

Of course! If you would prefer to check out Sunday, that is no worry. Please notify the staff when you check in at reception.

Unfortunately not. The Neighbour’s Park is allocated to RV’s/Motor homes and no camping will be allowed in tents or in vehicles. Camping in RV’s/motor homes are allowed in The Neighbour’s Park as they have the basic safety precautions built in unlike camping in a tent or your vehicle. We would still love for you to come party with us at the festival, so why not check out our other camping and glamping options and see what tickles your fancy. With so many options to choose from, we are sure that you will find a solution that suits, as an alternative to your request. If you have further queries on this, please hit us up on info@ticketpros.co.za and we will be able to assist accordingly.

The only glamping options with private showers are the Penthouse Pavilion and the Ultimate Utopia. All other glamping and camping options will need to make use of the communal showers.

We will have dedicated female, male and non-binary / gender fluid showers. These will all be in the same area but separated for your safety and comfort.

Yup, you bet ya. We are working with the team to have a small general store located within the campsite for any necessities of nice-to-have’s that you might have forgotten.

Pretty much your everyday items… things that we can’t live without but often forget like shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant… and for those who need a little snack, we will have you covered with a selection of sweet and savoury items to keep you energized. And what is a general store without the important braai necessities… we will make sure our shelves are stocked with your braai essentials so we can keep the party going.

That is a big yes! We want you and your stuff to be safe so please make sure that you lock up your home-away-from-home when you are kicking back at the festival. We will have dedicated security in the campgrounds, but it is up to you to make sure you secure your items for safe keeping.

Hotel

Fam, we got you! Thanks to our amazing partners at the Tsogo Sun Group, we have never-before-seen rates on offer just for you!

None of you are strangers to booking tickets… if you are looking for hotel accommodation, it means that you have already made the fantastic decision to attend the Hey Neighbour Festival. All you gotta do is click on the “Book Now” button and you will be redirected to the Tsogo Sun Group splash page where you can book the rooms for your stay.

It really could not be easier… the hotels (with the BEST rates) are located in the Monte Casino precinct, just a hop, skip and jump away from the Monte Casino Park & Ride Monte… I feel like this was meant to be. Please check out the Park & Ride page for the bus timing schedule. You really won’t want to miss a thing!

For a limited time only you can access these amazing rates. These rates (um, did we mention just how amazing they are?) are only valid until 23h59 on 01 November, at which point they will close and sadly be gone. But you are part of our fam, so we can’t leave you hanging. Even after these amazing rates are sadly gone, Tsogo Sun have stepped up, yet again, to offer you an Early Bird special available from the 2nd November until the festival.

The hotel check-in times are 14h00 and the check-out times are 11h00.

FLights

For those of you who need to fly in to the 011 for the festival, we will share our flight options deals in September. We are still curating the best possible options for you.

Hey neighbour, we have heard you!! We are in chats with our travel partners to find the best way of getting you to the festival. Please be patient while we curate the best possible options available. We will make some noise on our socials once we have more information to share.

Artist and line-up

There are certain things that we can guarantee, but that is not one of them. Many of your fave artists will be performing at the same time, so you will need to check the talent performance schedule online or on your app to plan your viewing at the festival.

We hear you! Nothing better than being prepared. The phase 2 line has been announced… please check out Line-Up to get more information on who will be hot on our stage.

Leading up to the festival we will identify which talent will be performing per day. This way you can figure out which day you would like to attend… but hey, why not do all 3 days?

Closer to the festival we will advise which talent will be performing on which stage – yes, we have more than one stage to wow you – and which time slots they will be performing.

Please keep an eye on our website and socials for more updates. Don’t worry, we will make some noisy to let you know!

For all you budding artists out here, please hit us up on our talent line talent@heyneighbour.co.za and let’s make friends. Send us your bio and video and we can see if there if Hey Neighbour is the place where dreams come true for you.

Lockers

Yes, we got you! Lockers will be available to hire for the event days. You can choose to book these on a day to day basis or as a 3 day booking.

We will have dedicated staff onsite to keep an eye on the lockers, but on securing a locker, you agree that we cannot be held liable for any loss of items. It is your responsibility to ensure that your locker is locked.

The lockers will operate for the duration of the festival. So this means we will have a dedicated team to assist you from 12h00 – 00h00.

In short, you can do both, but we cannot guarantee any availability onsite should you not have secured a locker in advance. Rather be safe than sorry and secure your locker ahead online before getting to the festival… it could be a loooong day of carrying things around.

All you gotta to do is hop on to www.ticketpros.co.za and select when you would like to book a locker.

Once you have booked your locker, you just need to show up and check in with us at our dedicated reception locker area. Locker bookings will open in September. Please keep an eye on our website and socials for more information.

Nope, no need. We will supply you with a lock and locker for the duration you have booked. If you have purchased a single day locker, please ensure that you clear your locker out and hand over the key and lock at reception before you leave the festival.

If you have purchased a weekend or multiple day locker, please ensure that you clear out your locker each night and at the end of your final day, please hand over the key and lock at reception before leaving he festival.

In short, this cost is to cover any losses with the locks or damages to the lockers. While we know you will be super vigilant with your key, accidents can happen. When checking in you will be issued with a key – this key will need to be issued back to the reception team when collecting your items at the end of the festival. If you return your key, your money will be refunded to you 7-14 days post the festival. If you have lost your key, sadly this money remains with us to cover the replacement cost
